Exports of Agro-Forestry-Aquatic Products Down Nearly 5% in January

Hanoi: Vietnam’s export value of agro-forestry-aquatic products was estimated at 5.08 billion USD in January, marking a 4.9% decline compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD). Meanwhile, import value of agro-forestry-aquatic products in January reached 3.9 billion USD, marking an 11.9% increase year-on-year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the decline in export value comes amid various challenges faced by the sector, including fluctuating global demand and logistical constraints. The increase in import value suggests a growing domestic need for agro-forestry-aquatic products, potentially driven by rising consumption and industrial requirements.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development highlighted efforts to stabilize the sector through policy measures aimed at boosting production efficiency and expanding market access. The ministry also emphasized the importance of enhancing product quality to meet international standards as part
of its strategic focus to regain export growth in the coming months.
