Da nang: The central city’s international airport authority has introduced biometric technology on the VneID platform, Face ID, for all passengers with paperless aviation procedures. The Airports Corporation of Vietnam’s Da Nang branch (ACV Da Nang) announced that this is the latest digital application implemented at the airport. By utilizing Face ID on the digital platform, passengers traveling with national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and budget airline Vietjet Air can employ biometric identification via the VneID application instead of presenting traditional ID cards at security checkpoints and boarding gates. This initiative marks Da Nang airport as the first in Vietnam to provide a completely automated service for passengers from check-in to boarding.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the deployment of Face ID technology is part of a broader effort to enhance efficiency and convenience in passenger processing at Da Nang airport. The application of such advanced technology is expected to streamline the travel experience, reduce wait times, and improve overall operational effectiveness. The introduction of Face ID aligns with global trends in aviation where biometric solutions are increasingly being adopted to facilitate seamless and secure passenger journeys.
The adoption of this technology is a significant step forward in modernizing Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure. ACV Da Nang’s initiative not only sets a precedent for other airports in the country but also positions Vietnam as a competitive player in the global aviation industry. As the technology is further refined and expanded, it could lead to more widespread use across other airports in Vietnam, paving the way for a new era of digital travel.
