Farmers in An Giang Yield Bumper 2024 Autumn-Winter Rice Crop.

AN GIANG: Farmers in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang are enjoying a bumper autumn-winter rice crop while the prices are high. The locality has so far harvested over 122,300 ha out of the total 158,748 ha of this year’s crop, reporting an average yield of over 6.09 tonnes per ha; up 160 kg per ha as compared to the figure of the same period last year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the increased yield has brought significant benefits to the farmers in the region, as the current market prices are favorable. The combination of a high yield and good prices has provided a substantial boost to the local agricultural economy. The remaining area of rice fields is expected to be harvested in the coming weeks, further contributing to the region’s agricultural output for the year.
