Fatherland Front Urged to Enhance Role in Strengthening National Unity

Hanoi: Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu on January 12 urged the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and its member organisations to better fulfill their role as the political nucleus in strengthening the great national unity. Addressing a meeting of the Party Organisation of the VFF and central mass organisations to roll out key tasks for 2026, Tu requested the VFF and its member organisations to better promote their role in mobilising members and citizens to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, practice democracy, and build social consensus to successfully realise political goals, as this year is marked by major national events.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the emphasis on enhancing the role of the VFF reflects the importance of their involvement in the nation's political landscape. The VFF and its member organisations are seen as instrumental in fostering a sense of unity and collaboration among citizens, which is crucial for the achievement of the country's political objectives. The call to action highlights the need for greater engagement and participation from the populace in national affairs, encouraging a collaborative effort towards national development.

The meeting underscored the significance of patriotic movements and the practice of democracy as means to build social consensus. By actively involving citizens in these movements, the VFF aims to create a cohesive society that is aligned with the nation's political ambitions. This initiative is particularly pertinent in a year filled with critical national events, requiring a unified front to navigate challenges and seize opportunities for progress.
