First National Semiconductor Chip Prototyping Support Centre Makes Debut

Hanoi: The Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) on June 26 unveiled the Vietnam National Multi-Project Wafer Coordination Centre (VNMPW/CC) - the first national centre dedicated to supporting semiconductor chip prototyping. This marks a key step in connecting domestic chip research and design with the global semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the establishment of the VNMPW/CC is expected to bolster Vietnam's position in the semiconductor industry by facilitating local research and development efforts. The centre aims to bridge the gap between Vietnamese chip designers and international manufacturing partners, enhancing the country's technological capabilities and fostering innovation.

The VNMPW/CC will provide a platform for collaboration among researchers, engineers, and companies involved in semiconductor technology. By offering resources and support for prototyping, the centre seeks to accelerate the development and commercialization of semiconductor products in Vietnam.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy by the Vietnamese government to strengthen the nation's technological infrastructure and make it a competitive player in the global semiconductor market. This move is anticipated to attract investment, boost local expertise, and create opportunities for technological advancements within the region.
