First Session of Ho Chi Minh City’s New-Term People’s Council Begins


Ho chi minh city: The People’s Council of Ho Chi Minh City for the 2026-2031 term held its inaugural session on March 30 to establish the municipal administration framework for the upcoming tenure. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man marked the event by sending flowers. Among the attendees were Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, and all 125 newly elected deputies of the municipal People’s Council, who were selected in the March 15 election.



According to Vietnam News Agency, the session aims to consolidate the administrative apparatus and set the groundwork for the new term. The presence of key political figures underscores the significance of the event in shaping the governance and future direction of Ho Chi Minh City.
