Floating Season Comes Early to An Giang

An giang: ‘Floating season’ in the Mekong Delta, typically occurring from the seventh to the ninth lunar month, has arrived early in An Giang province this year. The rising water levels have flooded newly-harvested rice fields outside the dykes in Phu Huu commune, marking the area as the first to receive waters flowing from the Mekong River to the Hau River.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the local community in An Giang is embracing the early arrival of the floating season with optimism. Residents are busy catching fish that accompany the floodwaters, with hopes for a bountiful harvest of shrimp and fish. This early influx of water brings with it the promise of prosperity and a fruitful season for the people of An Giang.
