Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot on June 8. During the meeting, Barrot affirmed that France attaches much importance to the relations with Vietnam, which hold an important role in ASEAN and the European country’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the discussions highlighted the significance of the bilateral relationship between France and Vietnam. The meeting underscored France’s strategic interest in strengthening its ties with Vietnam, recognizing the latter’s pivotal position in both the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
The meeting between the two countries’ foreign affairs leaders is a testament to their commitment to fostering cooperation and enhancing diplomatic relations, as emphasized by Barrot’s remarks.
