Gia Lai Province Sets Ambitious Export Target of 850 Million USD for 2025

GIA LAI: The Central Highlands province of Gia Lai has set an ambitious target to achieve 850 million USD in exports by 2025. This goal comes on the heels of a successful 2024, where the province recorded an export turnover of 820 million USD, marking a growth of over 20% compared to the previous year. The increase in export turnover is attributed to steady growth in industrial production and retail revenue.

According to Vietnam News Agency, coffee emerged as a standout product for Gia Lai, with exports reaching 210,000 tonnes valued at 640 million USD. This represented a 30.61% increase and accounted for 80% of the province’s total export turnover. The strong performance in coffee exports underscores the region’s significant role in the global coffee market.

In addition to coffee, other significant contributors to Gia Lai’s export growth include rubber latex and wood products. Rubber latex exports brought in 1.25 million USD, while wood products generated 2.25 million USD. These sectors, although smaller i
n scale compared to coffee, play important roles in diversifying the province’s export portfolio.

Gia Lai’s strategic focus on enhancing export turnover aligns with broader economic goals, aiming to leverage its agricultural and industrial strengths. The province is expected to continue capitalizing on its key export sectors to meet its 2025 target, potentially driving further economic development and prosperity in the region.
