Hanoi: A global network for Vietnamese language and cultural teaching was launched in Fukuoka prefecture, Japan, on September 29 in the face of a growing need for upholding the traditional culture among the over 6 million overseas Vietnamese across over 130 countries and territories. Initiated by Vietnam’s Consulate General in Fukuoka, the network aims to create a common platform for teachers, students, their parents, and those interested in Vietnamese language education worldwide.
According to Vietnam News Agency, This initiative is designed to support the Vietnamese community abroad by providing resources and a structured environment to learn and teach the Vietnamese language and culture. The network seeks to bridge the gap between various Vietnamese communities across the globe, fostering a deeper connection with their heritage.
The establishment of this network reflects the growing interest and necessity for cultural preservation among Vietnamese expatriates. As the global diaspora continues to expand, maintaining a connection to one’s roots becomes increasingly significant. The network is expected to facilitate not just language learning but also cultural exchange and understanding, enhancing the cultural identity of Vietnamese people living abroad.
