Hanoi Inaugurates Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant

Hanoi: Hanoi’s Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant was inaugurated on August 19, as part of a series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). The facility was constructed under Hanoi’s Yen Xa Sewerage System Project (I) and funded by an official development assistance loan from Japan. The plant is designed with a full capacity of 270,000 cubic meters per day and night, utilizing the conventional activated sludge process with AO (Anoxic and Oxic) operation.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the entire wastewater treatment system is constructed in a basin covering about 4,874 hectares, benefiting more than one million residents. The Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant is one of four packages under the project, aimed at improving the city’s wastewater management and environmental conditions.
