Hanoi:Ensuring a reliable and continuous power supply in Hanoi's new development phase extends beyond mere investment in infrastructure like power lines and substations.
According to Vietnam News Agency, Hanoi Power Corporation (EVN Hanoi) is working towards a consistent power supply by adopting new management methods, leveraging science and technology, embracing digital transformation, and gradually developing a smart power grid. These initiatives are in line with the Politburo's Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW and No. 70-NQ/TW, which focus on scientific and technological advancements and ensuring future energy security.
Hanoi's status as the national political and administrative center, combined with its role as an economic, scientific, technological, and innovation hub, is driving increased demand for energy infrastructure. The city's rapid urbanization and the growth of industry, services, transport, data centers, and the digital economy necessitate a power system capable of supporting daily consumption as well as production, business activities, central agency operations, and major political and diplomatic events.
Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW, issued on August 20, 2025, aims to secure national energy security through the development of a modern, competitive, and efficient energy system. Meanwhile, Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, highlights science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as critical elements for driving socio-economic development.
