Ho Chi Minh City: The merger of Ho Chi Minh City with Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Binh Duong provinces marks a historic urban transformation, creating a dynamic triad forming a megacity of finance, industry, and seaports, stated Party General Secretary To Lam at a working session with the standing boards of the three localities’ Party Committees on June 18.

The combined strengths of Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Binh Duong are expected to bolster their positions in finance, industry, and maritime activities, facilitating increased international trade and investment.
The strategic location and infrastructure of the newly formed megacity would support its role as a pivotal hub in Southeast Asia. The merger aims to optimize resources and improve connectivity within the region, potentially attracting more businesses and fostering economic collaborations.
