Hanoi: A delegation from Champasak province of Laos paid a working visit to Ho Chi Minh City from August 9-12, during which the two sides held talks and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation for 2026-2030, seeking to further strengthen their close, enduring and strategically significant ties. Under the MoU signed on August 11, the two sides agreed to enhance exchanges, share development experience, and expand cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism. They will also promote collaboration in education and human resources development, and step up people-to-people diplomacy and socio-cultural exchanges.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit marked a significant step in bolstering the relationship between the two regions. The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for the upcoming years, focusing on key areas that will benefit both localities. The commitment to enhance exchanges and share development experiences is expected to provide mutual benefits, fostering economic growth and cultural understanding.
