Hanoi: The first Ho Chi Minh City International Traditional Martial Arts Championship, alongside the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Open Traditional Martial Arts Festival, commenced on July 23. These events aim to showcase the unique aspects of Vietnamese traditional martial arts to a global audience.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the events have gathered more than 2,500 martial arts masters, coaches, and artists from 128 delegations worldwide. Participating countries include France, the US, Italy, Algeria, Ireland, Russia, Morocco, India, and Belarus. The championship itself features 24 delegations, highlighting the international appeal and the diverse representation of martial arts disciplines.
