Hung Yen Breaks Ground on 4 Trillion VND Waste-to-Energy Plant

Hung yen: The People's Committee of the northern province of Hung Yen and Thien Y - Huy Anh Environmental Energy JSC (CNTY-EUZY Group, China) have initiated the construction of the Phu Cu waste-to-energy plant project in Doan Dao commune.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the plant will occupy a 7-hectare site and is designed to process 1,600 tonnes of waste per day and night, with a power generation capacity of 40 MW. The project represents a significant investment, totaling approximately 4 trillion VND (152.44 million USD).

The facility is scheduled to commence operations in the second quarter of 2027. It aims to transform waste into clean energy, alleviate the burden on landfills, and provide employment opportunities for local residents. Additionally, the project is expected to contribute to the state budget and advance sustainable environmental infrastructure in the region.
