Betrawati: Over the weekend, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested criminal illegal aliens across the country, including those convicted for heinous crimes such as first-degree murder, sexual assault of a child, rape, and aggravated assault:
According to Homeland Security, the arrests were carried out as part of a nationwide effort to remove individuals who pose significant public safety threats.
Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin stated that while Americans enjoyed their weekend, ICE agents worked tirelessly to apprehend murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and other dangerous individuals. He emphasized that under President Trump's administration, ICE has been empowered to fulfill the mandate of arresting and removing illegal aliens from the United States, prioritizing the safety of American citizens.
The list of individuals arrested includes Nelson Cruz-Urquilla from El Salvador, convicted of first-degree murder in Chesterfield, Virginia, and Henry Diaz-Antunuez from Honduras, convicted for second-degree murder in Washington, D.C. Other notable arrests include Hung Van Le and Hoan Quang Tran from Vietnam, convicted of second-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter, respectively.
ICE also apprehended Jorge Arturo Sanchez-Perez from Mexico for sexual assault of a child in Omaha, Nebraska, and Axel Castanan-Ramos from Guatemala for the rape of a minor in Delaware. Additional arrests were made for crimes such as statutory rape, predator criminal sexual assault, and lewd acts with a child under 14 years old.
The operation also targeted individuals convicted of drug-related offenses and violent crimes against public servants. Rafael Prado-Neri from Mexico and Alberto Jose Mendoza from Venezuela were among those arrested for such offenses.
This initiative reflects ICE's ongoing commitment to safeguarding communities by removing individuals who have been convicted of serious crimes. The agency continues to focus on identifying and arresting those who pose a direct threat to public safety.
