Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Finance reveals that in the first 6 hours, 10.5 million people registered via the government app, confirming that the system did not crash. Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, Deputy Minister of Finance, revealed that after the government opened for people to register to join the 10,000 baht digital wallet money transfer project starting on August 1, 67, in just the first 6 hours, 10.5 million people in the target group registered. The Ministry of Finance would like to reiterate that the problem of using the government app is caused by the inability to update the application version 3.0. Therefore, the public is requested to update continuously. If unable to do so, delete the government app and reload it again. Then, you will be able to use the service as usual. Currently, all relevant agencies are continuously monitoring the registration situation. It is acknowledged that the Digital Wallet money transfer project has received a lot of attention from the public. It is considered a su ccess in opening registrations according to the target. It is confirmed that the government app has no system crash problem. It is just that there is a large number of people using the app in the morning. After this, the Ministry of Finance will send information to relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Interior, financial institutions, and the Anti-Money Laundering Office to jointly verify the qualifications of project participants. The list of eligible persons will then be announced on September 22nd and the rights will be open for appeal. For the payment system, banks and Wallet service providers are currently cooperating and improving the system to fully support spending. Mr. Chulaphan said that everyone has the right to move their household registration for convenience in spending in the area, especially the hidden population in Bangkok or large cities. He admitted that it goes against the principle that the government wants people to travel back to spend in their local areas, especially during the New Year and Songkran festivals. There is still an opportunity to use such money, but it depends on each person's decision to use such rights. The government also allows many government agencies to facilitate people to register for the project for those with smartphones by setting up walk-in service points to help register and inquire about various information at 4 main locations nationwide: Community Digital Centers, Post Offices, Government Savings Bank, and Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), totaling 5,199 points from August 1 to September 15, 2024. Officers are prepared to provide services to people with smartphones but need assistance in registering during the operating hours at 4 main locations nationwide: 1) Community Digital Centers, 1,722 centers 2) Post offices, 1,200 locations (except authorized post offices (private) and service shops) 3) Government Savings Bank, 1,047 locations nationwide 4) Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), 1,238 locations A s for the group of those who do not have smartphones, registration for the project will be open from September 16 to October 15, 2024 at the locations specified by the government, which will be officially announced again.
