Judicial Agencies Urged to Uphold Human Rights, Says State President

Hanoi: State President Luong Cuong emphasized the importance of the Law on the Organisation of People’s Courts and the Law on the Organisation of People’s Procuracies in safeguarding human rights and citizens’ rights, ensuring they align with the Constitution and maintain the coherence of the legal system and judicial bodies. During a group discussion at the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly on May 8, President Cuong urged lawmakers to meticulously review and contribute to the refinement of draft laws to meet emerging development needs.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the President highlighted the necessity for these legal frameworks to evolve in tandem with the country’s development. He called for a comprehensive review of the laws to ensure they are equipped to address contemporary challenges while maintaining their foundational principles. The discussions focused on proposed amendments and supplements to various articles within the laws, aiming to enhance their effectiveness and adaptability.

President Cuong’s remarks underscore the critical role of judicial agencies in upholding the rights of individuals and maintaining the integrity of the legal system. The ongoing legislative review represents a significant step in ensuring that the legal frameworks continue to serve the evolving needs of the nation while adhering to constitutional mandates.
