Quang tri: The People’s Committee of Quang Tri province, in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), initiated the construction of a social protection and rehabilitation centre for persons with disabilities (PWD) in Nam Dong Ha ward on October 28. Funded through KOICA’s non-refundable official development assistance (ODA), the project boasts a total investment of approximately 293 billion VND (equivalent to 12.67 million USD). Spanning over 10,000 square meters, the facility will feature seven main functional areas dedicated to therapy, education, vocational training, welfare, and community reintegration. Construction is slated for completion in 2027.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the centre aims to provide comprehensive services to enhance the quality of life for PWD in the region. This initiative reflects KOICA’s commitment to supporting social development projects that foster inclusivity and empowerment for vulnerable communities. The establishment of this centre marks a significant step forward in addressing the needs of PWD in Quang Tri, offering them opportunities for rehabilitation and integration into society.
