Korean Companies Plan Investment in Fruit Juice and Biofuel Plants in Can Tho

Can tho: Two major enterprises from the Republic of Korea, Lotte Chilsung Beverage and SEP Cooperative, are set to explore investment opportunities in Can Tho. These companies are planning to survey and potentially invest in two significant projects in the Mekong Delta city. The projects involve establishing a tropical fruit juice processing plant and a biofuel extraction plant that utilizes rice straw and other agricultural by-products.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the plans were discussed during a working session on September 30. The meeting took place between the Korean business delegation and the Can Tho Department of Industry and Trade. The proposed projects are expected to enhance the industrial landscape of Can Tho, leveraging the region’s agricultural resources.

Lotte Chilsung Beverage, a part of the Lotte Group, is known for its diverse beverage offerings, and its interest in establishing a fruit juice processing plant aligns with its core business operations. On the other hand, SEP Cooperative is focusing on biofuel extraction, aiming to utilize agricultural by-products like rice straw, which are abundant in the region. These initiatives could contribute to sustainable industrial development in Can Tho.
