Dak Lak: Lao students and communities in Vietnam celebrated their traditional Bunpimay New Year Festival 2025 (Buddhist calendar 2568) with vibrant cultural events held in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak province.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the celebration saw participation from a large number of Lao students currently studying in Vietnam, as well as members of the Lao community residing in the country. The festival featured various cultural activities, including traditional music and dance performances, which showcased the rich heritage and customs of Laos.
The Bunpimay Festival, also known as the Lao New Year, is an important event for the Lao people. It marks the end of the dry season and the beginning of the rainy season, symbolizing renewal and purification. Participants engaged in traditional rituals such as the water-splashing ceremony, which is believed to bring blessings and good fortune.
