LEGO Opens 1.3 Billion USD Green Factory in Binh Duong

Binh Duong: LEGO Group, a Danish toy manufacturer, inaugurated its first factory in Vietnam, an over-1.3 billion USD green investment, at the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park III (VSIP III) in the southern province of Binh Duong on April 9. The facility, LEGO’s sixth globally and second in Asia, is set to employ about 4,000 workers. It is expected to bolster LEGO’s supply chain in Asia, reflecting its global leadership in toy manufacturing. A distribution centre in the nearby province of Dong Nai, its second logistics hub in Asia, is also slated for opening later this year.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the new factory signifies LEGO’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in its manufacturing processes. The facility is designed to achieve carbon-neutral status and will incorporate solar energy and energy-efficient production technologies. This development aligns with LEGO’s broader strategy to enhance its operations while minimizing environmental impact.

The establishment of the factory in Binh Duong is part of the company’s strategic expansion in Asia, which is a rapidly growing market for LEGO products. The new facility will not only improve the efficiency of LEGO’s supply chain in the region but also ensure quicker delivery times to customers.

The upcoming distribution centre in Dong Nai will further support LEGO’s logistics and distribution capabilities in Asia. This hub will facilitate the swift and efficient movement of products across the region, reinforcing LEGO’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for its products in Asia.
