Hanoi: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son hosted a reception in Hanoi on January 15 for Ali Ijaz Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore-based Makara Capital, urging the group to support Vietnam in developing international financial centres.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of establishing international financial hubs to boost economic growth and attract global investment. He called on Makara Capital to lend its expertise and resources to help realize this vision. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards enhancing Vietnam’s position in the global financial landscape.
Ali Ijaz Ahmad expressed Makara Capital’s interest in collaborating with Vietnam on this strategic endeavor and acknowledged the potential benefits of such financial centres for the country’s economic aspirations.
