Many PTT STATIONs offer free refueling to help flood victims in Chiang Rai.

Online society is praising the owner of a PTT gas station in Ngao District, Lampang Province, for giving free fuel to rescue workers who went to help flood victims in Chiang Rai. The total amount of 350,000 baht has run out. The free fuel is being delayed and a new round of distribution is planned. Three other gas stations in Chiang Rai are also offering assistance. OR is preparing to increase the amount by 100,000 baht per station. Social media is full of praise for the owner of a PTT gas station in Ngao, Lampang Province, who announced at around 9:00 a.m. on September 12, 2024 that he was notifying rescue workers around the country who would come to help with flooding in Chiang Rai and Mae Sai Provinces. Ms. Jakkree Chanphaichit, owner of City Oil Company Limited, is giving away 100,000 baht worth of free gas at the PTT gas station in Ngao District, Lampang, without any conditions, as long as it is a rescue vehicle. Mr. Jakree, the owner of the gas station, told Thai News Agency that he had discussed wit h his wife that since he could not go up to help the victims himself, he should support the volunteer rescue group that went up to help without expecting anything in return. So he announced that he would give the rescue group 100,000 baht of free fuel. Since his gas station is on the way up to Chiang Rai, many rescue groups, including rescue vehicles, cargo trucks, and jet skis, came to fill up their tanks until the 100,000 baht quickly ran out yesterday afternoon. His daughter helped add another 50,000 baht. Today, lawyer 'Achariya Ruangrattanapong' contacted the local police officers and asked to add another 200,000 baht, bringing the unlimited free fuel limit to 350,000 baht. However, many rescue workers rushed in to fill up their tanks to help the victims, causing this free fuel limit to run out. He announced that he would stop providing free fuel for the time being. However, recently, there are still people who contacted the PTT Ngao Khon Muang Ngam gas station page, asking to join this project. I am no t accepting donations, but I am talking with my family about how to handle it. I will make an account and announce the names of the project sponsors clearly. I may also open another round of free gas for rescuers, but it may be limited to a limit of 1,000 baht, to distribute the assistance more. At the same time, many gas stations in Chiang Rai Province have to close, both due to flooding problems and some are surrounded by water, such as the Rim Kok gas station. Many PTT stations in Chiang Rai have also opened free fuel for rescue workers, in a collaborative effort, with each station able to help. For example, Piyaporn Petroleum, Mae Korn Petroleum, and KU Oil. Ms. Patcharaporn Kusuwan, owner of PTT Station Prasopsuk, located at Pho Khun Intersection, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province, said that various stations in the province have continuously joined hands to provide free fuel for rescue workers, in accordance with the amount they can help. Her station was contacted by Mr. Chanchai and Mrs. Chairach W ongprasertphon, who jointly gave 100,000 baht to provide free fuel for the rescue workers. The station itself also contributed another 20,000 baht, totaling 120,000 baht. They started offering free fuel yesterday and have already used up all the funds. As far as she knows, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR) is considering adding another 100,000 baht per station to operate in this manner. 'I would like to thank all the rescue organizations and foundations who have come to help flood victims in Chiang Rai this time. The floodwaters are really high in many areas and many communities, including Mae Sai, Mueang District, Doi Hang Community, Nam Rat, Mae Sai, Koh Loi Community/Rong Suea Ten Community. Most recently, OR has come to coordinate and will help increase the rescue fund by another 100,000 baht for free,' said Ms. Patcharaporn. Source: Thai News Agency
