Measures Sought to Promote Fair, Sustainable Trade Relations with US

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on April 22 chaired a meeting between standing Cabinet members and key ministries and agencies to discuss promoting fair and sustainable trade relations with the US. This marks the fifth meeting the PM has held on implementing the conclusions of the Politburo and Party General Secretary To Lam regarding Vietnam’s adaptation to the US’s new tariff policies and strategies for enhancing bilateral trade ties.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting focused on evaluating the current trade dynamics between Vietnam and the US and identifying measures to address challenges posed by recent changes in US tariff policies. The discussions aimed at ensuring Vietnam’s trade policies align with the evolving economic landscape and maintaining robust bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Chinh emphasized the importance of strengthening trade cooperation frameworks to not only meet the demands of the present but also to sustainably benefit both nations in the long term. The meeting underscored Vietnam’s commitment to adhering to international trade standards and working collaboratively with US counterparts to foster a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
