Meteorological Department warns “Northeast-East-South” to prepare for heavy rain

The Meteorological Department revealed that Thailand will experience more rain and heavy rain in some areas. It warned the “Northeast, East and South” to prepare for heavy rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff.

The Meteorological Department reported that Thailand will experience more rain and some areas will experience heavy rain, with some areas in the Northeast, East, and the West Coast of the South. People in these areas should be aware of the dangers of heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides, near waterways, and lowlands. This is because the monsoon trough has moved down across the lower North, upper Central, and Northeast regions, into a low-pressure cell along the coast of central Vietnam, along with the relatively strong southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

For the waves in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, they are quite strong with waves 2-3
meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 3 meters. In the lower Gulf of Thailand, the waves are approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the aforementioned areas are asked to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand should refrain from leaving the shore during this period.
