“Monporn” orders “Port Authority” to carry out BIG Cleaning Day in Chiang Mai Province

‘Monporn’ ordered the ‘Port Authority’ to launch a BIG Cleaning Day to restore and help alleviate the suffering of the people from the flood disaster in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province, continuously and urgently.

Ms. Manoporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport, said that the government is concerned about the flood victims and has ordered a Big Cleaning Day in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province, where the situation has begun to improve in some areas. The government will help the people, survey the damage, and bring equipment to clean the people’s houses from the large amount of mud to help the people reduce the impact as much as possible. The focus is on the safety of the officers’ work and monitoring the water situation in risk areas 24 hours a day since the flood on July 29, 2024 until today. The government will continue to provide assistance until the people in the area can return to their homes normally and safely, in accordance with the “Smiling Carriage” policy.

Mr.
Kritphet Chaiyue, Director-General of the Marine Department, revealed that he had ordered the Chiang Rai Regional Marine Office, located in the flood-stricken area, to bring 13 officers and 2 vehicles to the area to help the people restore and clean up the Big Cleaning Day at Ban Ruea Prachachon in Mueang Chiang Rai District urgently after the water level receded, causing mud and soil to accumulate and damage many items. All sectors will work together to restore and help alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the flood in the area. The people in the flood-stricken areas can contact the Marine Department’s hotline at 1199 for assistance 24 hours a day.
