Hanoi: The National Assembly (NA) Party Committee’s Standing Board convened a meeting on March 17 to address several critical issues concerning the orientation of electing deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils for the 2026-2031 tenure. The meeting, chaired by Secretary of the NA Party Committee and NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, focused on gathering opinions on proposed amendments and supplements to the Law on Election of Deputies to the NA and People’s Councils and the progress of amendments to certain provisions of the Constitution 2013.

According to Vietnam News Agency, this meeting is part of a broader initiative to streamline the apparatus and ensure the legislative framework aligns with the evolving political landscape. Discussions emphasized the importance of these amendments in enhancing the electoral process and ensuring effective governance for the upcoming tenure.
