Hanoi: The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee recently reviewed proposed amendments to several key legislative frameworks, including the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the Law on Anti-Money Laundering, and the Law on Credit Organisations. This review took place on July 14, with the proposed legislation slated for submission to the 16th NA's first extraordinary session using an expedited legislative process.
According to Vietnam News Agency, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man led the session, during which SBV Governor Pham Duc An outlined the Government's proposal. This initiative aims to address critical areas in banking and financial regulations to align with international standards and enhance the country's economic resilience. The proposed amendments are expected to bolster the regulatory capacity of the SBV and strengthen Vietnam's efforts in combating money laundering.
