NBTC asks for cooperation from mobile operators to take care of signals in flooded areas

The NBTC office has requested cooperation from mobile operators to maintain signals so they can be used normally, and has issued relief measures for customers affected by flooding. It has also installed special communication networks to cover the entire area. Mr. Trirat Viriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, said that the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is requesting cooperation from all telecommunications operators to maintain communication systems for use at all times in flood-affected areas and to deploy vehicles to increase mobile phone signal channels along with support teams to help expand signals in flooded areas where demand for usage has increased from normal conditions so that people affected by the disaster can communicate and request assistance in a timely manner, especially emergency assistance communication that requires internet signals via social media platforms to dis tribute important messages at this time. This will help people trapped in various areas and evacuate them. In addition, we ask for cooperation from all telecommunications operators to set remedial measures to alleviate the suffering of customers in flood-affected areas and prepare for response in areas at risk of flash floods. Please closely monitor the situation from relevant agencies. Meanwhile, the NBTC Offices Region 3 and Region 34 have visited the flood situation in the northern region to inspect and install a special communication network system to cover the area in order to prepare to support various agencies in helping people in the event of a disaster. In addition, the Sai Lom Center of the NBTC Office is the main network for communicating and coordinating with the Amateur Radio Association in the disaster-stricken area to cooperate with the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office in the area and neighboring provinces to help those affected by the disaster.
