NESDB celebrates its 22nd anniversary, determined to elevate itself to become the brain of the country’s transportation system.

Mrs. Manop Jareonsri, Deputy Minister of Transport, presided over the 22nd anniversary of the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), with Mr. Panya Chuphanich, Director of OP, welcoming the guests. Ms. Manop revealed that throughout the 22 years, the OTP has been the brain of the Ministry of Transport, performing duties and playing a role in proposing policies and creating strategic plans, master plans, and various plans for roads, rails, water and air for the Ministry of Transport under the framework of 'Transportation for Opportunities for Thailand' to push Thailand towards becoming a 'Regional Transportation Hub'. The land policy has the OTP as the main agency in developing a transportation network connecting travel modes (Feeder system) and providing a public transportation system in major cit ies in the region. In the urgent railway policy, the OTP is expected to negotiate with the Lao PDR and China to find a conclusion on the construction of a new bridge across the Mekong River in Nong Khai Province. In the urgent air policy, the OTP is expected to consider connecting air travel with ground transportation and organizing traffic at various airports, including the overall important policies of the Ministry of Transport, which has assigned the OTP to accelerate the 1 trillion baht Land Bridge project to make it tangible. Currently, the Land Bridge project is under consideration by the National Economic and Social Development Board, and she herself will visit the area to follow up on the latest progress of the Land Bridge project this November. For the Land Bridge project to happen, it must have important keys such as: The Southern Economic Corridor Act B.E. ... or known as the SEC Act, the mechanism for determining the area of ??the Southern Economic Corridor, determining investor benefits, includin g the authority and duties of each agency to supervise and drive the Southern Economic Corridor, including the land bridge project to be developed in this area. The draft of the Railway Transport Act B.E. ... which has been approved by the Cabinet will be submitted to the House of Representatives for consideration on Wednesday, October 16. There are currently 3 drafts of the Railway Transport Act B.E. ... that are being prepared for consideration: the Cabinet's draft of the Railway Transport Act, the Pheu Thai Party's draft of the Railway Transport Act, and the Prachachon Party's draft of the Railway Transport Act. As for the draft of the Joint Ticket Act, which must proceed in conjunction with the draft of the Railway Transport Act B.E. ..., it will not be up to date with the opening of the House of Representatives this session.
