Hanoi: Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan recently held a meeting with Aysen Sergeyevich Nikolayev, Head of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) of Russia, on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2026. During the meeting, Tuan emphasized Vietnam's commitment to its longstanding friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia. He also acknowledged Sakha (Yakutia)'s enthusiasm for strengthening ties with Vietnamese localities.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored mutual interests in enhancing cooperation between Vietnam and the Sakha Republic. Discussions focused on potential collaborative opportunities that could benefit both regions economically and culturally, aligning with the broader goals of the Eastern Economic Forum.
