Nghe An Police Dismantle Cross-Border Drug Ring, Seize 22 Bricks of Heroin

Nghe an: Police in the central province of Nghe An said on February 24 that they had dismantled a cross-border drug trafficking ring, arresting one suspect and seizing 22 bricks of heroin. Following surveillance operations, the provincial Public Security Force's Drug Crime Investigation Division identified Dao Minh Hoang (born in 1981), a resident of Bach Mai ward in Hanoi, as a key link in a network trafficking narcotics from Laos into Vietnam for distribution.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the operation was a result of extensive investigations and coordination between law enforcement agencies. The authorities had been monitoring the activities of the network for some time, which led to the identification of key individuals involved in the trafficking operations.

The successful interception of the drug shipment is considered a significant achievement for the Nghe An police, reflecting their ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes. The suspect, Dao Minh Hoang, is currently in custody and faces charges related to drug trafficking. The police continue to investigate further to dismantle any remaining elements of the drug network.

The seizure of 22 bricks of heroin highlights the challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling cross-border drug trafficking. Authorities in Nghe An reaffirmed their commitment to intensify surveillance and collaboration with neighboring countries to prevent the influx of illegal drugs into Vietnam.
