Surin, The greatest one in the world, Surin Province organized a merit-making ceremony for 71 monks to receive alms on the backs of 37 elephants on the important religious day, Asarnha Bucha Day and the Buddhist Lent Festival, year 2567.
Atmosphere in front of the monument of Phraya Surin Phakdi Si Narong Changwang, Mueang District, Surin, the governor of the province, along with Buddhists and many tourists, joined together to make merit by offering rice and dried food to monks on elephants. There were 71 monks sitting to receive alms on the backs of 37 elephants, considered the only place in the world. It is an activity in the annual Candle Festival and Alms Giving on Elephants 2024, which the Surin Provincial Administrative Organization organizes every year to continue the good cultural traditions and to promote tourism in Surin Province by publicizing the event to tourists.
