OIC delivers compensation to families of victims of bus fire

The Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC) has presented a total of more than 30 million baht in compensation to the families of those who died in the school bus fire incident. Mr. Chuchat Pramulpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), along with senior executives of the OIC, traveled to present compensation to the families of those who died in the school bus fire incident, which resulted in the deaths of 23 students and teachers. All of the deceased are being prayed for at Wat Khao Phraya Sangkharam School, Lansak District, Uthai Thani Province. Mr. Chuchat expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. For the compensation money that was given to the families of the deceased teachers and students, there were 6 insurance companies that were under the supervision of the Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC), namely Viriyah Insurance, Mitra Tae Insurance, Allianz Ayudhya Life Assurance, AIA, Krungthai AXA Life Assurance, and Bangkok Life Assurance. The compensatio n in the insurance included compulsory motor insurance, student group accident insurance, educational institution liability insurance, life insurance, and insurance that the deceased had taken out a loan for. The total compensation for non-life and life insurance from this incident was 30,297,282 baht. There were 19 students and one trainee teacher who received 1,210,000 baht in compensation, while Miss Thitapha Chomsri received 1,320,668 baht in compensation because the family had taken out personal life insurance with coverage of another 100,000 baht. As for Miss Phimthong Sombat, she received 2,666,614 baht in compensation and Teacher Kanokwan Siphong received 2,110,000 baht in compensation. Source: Thai News Agency
