Order to transfer 15 Ayutthaya police officers who cheated on female service personnel, claiming to be in a sting operation

The Ayutthaya commander has ordered the transfer of 15 Ayutthaya police officers to work at the Operations Center. He revealed that they have been called in for questioning one by one, but no one has yet admitted it. He confirmed that the police’s sting operation does not require sexual intercourse.

Pol. Col. Chotiwat Lueangwilai, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, revealed that he had signed an order for 15 officers from the Special Operations Unit (NOOP) of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police who were on duty on August 26 to report to the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police Operations Center and set up a fact-finding committee.

In the case of Ms. A (pseudonym), 27 years old, a sideline girl, who complained to the page “Sai Mai Must Survive” that 4 men approached her to buy her services, but after having sex, 2 out of the 4 men who slept with her asked for the 1,500 baht service fee back and claimed to be police officers before taking the victim to the special operation
s unit of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Police Station. They also threatened to prosecute her for prostitution and demanded 20,000 baht, until she had to negotiate and collect 5,000 baht. In the end, they threatened her to pay bribes and have her sleep with them every month.

Yesterday (29 August), the Sai Mai Must Survive team took the victim to file a complaint at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Police Station. They then took her to point out the crime scene, at a hotel in the city where the men took her to sleep together. They then went to point out the room of the special operations unit where the victim was taken to be threatened and demanded money. The investigation officers of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Police Station collected evidence to prosecute those involved.

However, from the individual investigation of all 15 individuals, who were where and how they were on the day of the incident, no one has admitted it. Meanwhile, the investigator has made an appointment for the victims on September 2nd to
come and identify the perpetrators. After that, they will investigate and expand the results to take disciplinary and criminal action.

The commander of the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police also confirmed that all sting operations, especially in cases of prostitution, do not require sexual intercourse. Using other evidence can arrest and prosecute. As for the claims by the group of men that they demanded money to deliver to their boss, he confirmed that there is no policy in this matter. He reiterated that he will investigate and track down the 4 men. If it is found that they are really police officers, he will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
