Party Chief Urges Young Lawmakers to Drive Innovation, Reform

Hanoi: Party General Secretary To Lam has called on young National Assembly deputies to spread the spirit of innovation, pushing for reform in electoral mechanisms, voter engagement, and the use of modern technology to improve legislative activities. During a meeting in Hanoi with members of the 15th-tenure Young National Assembly Deputies Group on the occasion of its 10th anniversary, Lam emphasized the importance of young parliamentarians immersing themselves at the grassroots level, particularly in communes and wards, to identify inefficiencies and outdated mechanisms. He highlighted that their insights are essential for streamlining Vietnam’s legal and administrative frameworks to achieve a more responsive governance system.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored the critical role of young lawmakers in driving change and implementing reforms. Lam urged these deputies to leverage their understanding of modern technology and innovative approaches to enhance the legislative process. By engaging directly with the electorate and addressing their concerns, young deputies can contribute significantly to developing policies that reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.

The call to action comes as Vietnam continues to navigate its path towards modernization, with an emphasis on reforming electoral processes to ensure fair representation and active voter participation. The integration of technology in legislative activities is seen as a pivotal step in increasing transparency and efficiency within the National Assembly. Young lawmakers, with their fresh perspectives and forward-thinking mindset, are viewed as key players in facilitating these advancements.
