Party Leader’s Special Envoy Meets with Russian President

Moscow: Special Envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee To Lam, Politburo member, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, paid a courtesy call on Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on February 24 as part of his Russian visit to brief the host side on the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the CPV. Also on the afternoon of February 24, Trung held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the visit by Le Hoai Trung aims to strengthen the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Russia, and to update Russian leaders on the latest developments and resolutions from the CPV's 14th National Congress. The meeting with President Putin underscores the importance of Vietnam's relationship with Russia and the commitment of both nations to deepen their cooperation in various sectors.

During his discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Trung emphasized Vietnam's desire to enhance collaboration with Russia in areas of mutual interest. The talks also covered key international issues and regional security matters, highlighting the shared goals of Vietnam and Russia in maintaining peace and stability in the region.
