Hanoi: People-to-people diplomacy has been identified as one of the six core pillars of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership recently elevated between Singapore and Vietnam. The focus on people-to-people connectivity aims to build mutual trust and promote shared progress, according to Singapore's Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Pang Te Cheng. He highlighted this at a gathering commemorating Singapore's 61st National Day, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) on August 19.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the establishment of people-to-people diplomacy underscores the importance of interpersonal connections as the foundation for the partnership between the two nations. This approach is intended to strengthen ties and foster a deeper understanding between the citizens of Singapore and Vietnam, thereby enhancing cooperation in various sectors.
