Doha:An Giang An Giang province is making significant strides in infrastructure development within the Phu Quoc special zone as it prepares to host the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. Special mechanisms are being implemented to expedite these crucial projects, which include reinforcing oversight and ensuring transparency, as well as accelerating site clearance and resettlement processes.

According to Vietnam News Agency, by late September 2026, the disbursement of public investment capital for projects related to APEC had surpassed 9.37 trillion VND (362.1 million USD), which represents 69.54% of the annual plan. Furthermore, clean land has been prepared for construction at 20 out of the 21 projects requiring site clearance.

These efforts aim to ensure that all necessary infrastructure is in place well ahead of the international event, demonstrating An Giang province's commitment to hosting a successful APEC meeting.
