PM Calls for Private Sector’s Stronger Efforts to Drive Economic Growth

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for the mobilisation of the strength and resources of the entire nation and society to drive economic development as a whole, including the private sector, with the aim of delivering both material and spiritual benefits to the people. The PM chaired a working session with the Private Sector Development Research Board (Board IV) in Hanoi on August 10, focusing on implementing the Politburo’s Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW along with resolutions from the National Assembly and the Government to advance the private economic sector.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting underscored the importance of the private sector as a crucial engine for national economic growth. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to harness the full potential of private enterprises to contribute significantly to the country’s overall economic development. The session aimed to discuss strategies and measures to effectively implement the new resolutions, which are designed to create a more conducive environment for private businesses to thrive.

The resolutions, notably Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, are part of a broader governmental strategy to boost the private sector’s role in the economy. These resolutions focus on removing barriers to business operations, enhancing competitiveness, and fostering innovation within private enterprises. The government seeks to address existing challenges faced by private businesses and provide them with the necessary support to expand and innovate.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector stakeholders. He called for increased dialogue and cooperation to ensure that policies are effectively tailored to meet the needs of private businesses. The PM also highlighted the need for reforms that would streamline administrative procedures and improve the business climate, thereby encouraging more private investment.

The working session with Board IV marks a significant step in the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster the private sector’s contribution to the national economy. By implementing the resolutions from the Politburo, National Assembly, and Government, Vietnam aims to create a more dynamic and robust economic landscape that leverages the strengths of its private enterprises.
