PM Calls for Russia’s Support in High-Tech Advancement of Nuclear Science

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on January 13 called on Russia, specifically its State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), to collaborate and support Vietnam not only in developing nuclear power but also in advancing nuclear science and technology for peaceful purposes while receiving Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev in Hanoi.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of nuclear science in contributing to various fields such as energy, agriculture, and healthcare. He highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to utilizing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes and praised Rosatom’s expertise in the field. The meeting underscored the potential for strengthened bilateral cooperation in high-tech sectors.

Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev expressed readiness to support Vietnam’s goals in nuclear advancement. The discussions included potential joint projects and knowledge transfer initiatives that could help Vietnam harness nuclear technology’s benefits. The collaboration aims to enhance Vietnam’s capabilities in nuclear research and development, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation in the region.
