PM Pham Minh Chinh Updates Diplomatic Corps on Local Governance Reform

Hanoi: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held a meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps in Vietnam on July 31 to brief them on the reorganisation of administrative units and two-tier local administration of the country. The PM thanked ambassadors, charg©s d’affaires, and representatives of countries and international organisations in Vietnam for their sincere support and continued commitment to the country.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the meeting was an opportunity for the Prime Minister to outline the government’s efforts in reforming local governance. The reorganisation aims to streamline administrative processes and enhance the efficiency of local governance. This initiative is expected to improve service delivery and ensure effective management at both provincial and district levels.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the reforms are part of a broader strategy to modernise Vietnam’s administrative framework to meet future challenges. The engagement with the diplomatic corps signifies Vietnam’s commitment to transparency and international cooperation in its governance reforms.
