PM Pham Minh Chinh Visits Iconic Site of Communist Party of China in Shanghai

Shanghai: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the Memorial Hall of the first National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Pudong district during his working trip to China on June 26. The historical site in Shanghai’s Huangpu district is regarded as the spiritual birthplace of the CPC, where the first national congress was held on July 23, 1921.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the congress was initially attended by 13 delegates representing over 50 Chinese communists. However, due to police interference, the meeting was relocated to a boat on Nanhu Lake in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, where the CPC’s establishment was officially declared. The visit to Pudong district highlights its role as a development model in the new era for both Shanghai and China.
