PM Sends Message to 16th UNCTAD Session

Hanoi: Vietnam remains steadfast in supporting the central role of the United Nations in maintaining peace, promoting cooperation, and addressing global and universal challenges, including trade, investment, and inclusive and sustainable development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed. The PM delivered his remarks in a pre-recorded video message sent to the opening of the 16th session of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD16) on October 20.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam’s commitment to multilateralism and the importance of the UN’s central role in global governance. Pham Minh Chinh highlighted the need for collective efforts in tackling pressing issues that affect the international community, urging nations to work together in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

The Prime Minister also reiterated Vietnam’s dedication to promoting inclusive economic growth and sustainable development, which aligns with the objectives of UNCTAD. He called for enhanced international cooperation to address challenges related to trade and investment, emphasizing that these are crucial areas for ensuring global prosperity.

In his message, Pham Minh Chinh stressed the significance of collaboration and dialogue among member states to effectively address and overcome global challenges. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s support for UNCTAD’s efforts in facilitating trade and development discussions and initiatives that benefit all nations.
