Ba Ria-Vung Tau: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau to turn its Con Dao island district into a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and world-class tourist destination. At a working session with the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee on May 3, PM Chinh instructed local authorities to finalize and implement the scheme for applying special mechanisms for Con Dao’s development.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of using special mechanisms to drive the development of Con Dao. These mechanisms are expected to facilitate the transformation of the island into a premier tourist location, enhancing its appeal to both domestic and international visitors.
Local authorities have been tasked with the responsibility of finalizing plans that align with the vision laid out by PM Chinh. The focus will be on sustainable development, ensuring that the natural beauty and ecological integrity of Con Dao are preserved while boosting its tourism infrastructure and services.
The Prime Minister’s directive aims to position Con Dao as a key player in Vietnam’s tourism sector, capitalizing on its unique geographical and cultural attributes to attract a global audience.
