PM Visits Residents, Armed Forces in Thanh Hoa’s Border Commune

Thanh hoa: Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on November 9 visited officials, residents, and armed forces in Yen Khuong, a border commune in the central province of Thanh Hoa. Yen Khuong, one of the two communes of former Lang Chanh district, is a mountainous and remote area with poor socio-economic conditions, limited infrastructure and transport, and a high poverty rate. It shares a 7-kilometer border with Laos, and is home to 1,126 households with 5,562 residents.

According to Vietnam News Agency, the Prime Minister’s visit aimed to assess the region’s challenges and explore opportunities for development. The visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving living conditions in remote areas and strengthening the support for local communities and armed forces stationed in these strategic locations. The government is expected to implement measures to enhance infrastructure, transportation, and socio-economic development in such border regions.
