Police are confident that the case of the three mothers and children who died in the bathroom is not complicated.

Three mothers and children of a police family died in the bathroom after pouring drain cleaning solution. Police said they have not ruled out any suspicious possibilities. The FDA warns against using drain cleaning products mixed with other products.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Somprasong Yentham, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, revealed the progress of the case, saying that the autopsy results are not yet conclusive, but the initial conclusion is that the cause of death was due to breathing problems from using the product to solve a clogged pipe, which caused a reaction with rotten egg gas.

However, the police have not ruled out any suspicions until the autopsy results and blood test results from the lab are released. The families of the deceased are asked to trust the police’s work. As for the funeral rites for the three, the relatives will take them to Wat Nok, Tambon Makham Yong, Amphoe Mueang Chon Buri.

While Pharmacist Wirachai Nalawchai, Deputy Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration, spok
e about the case of the death from the aforementioned case that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has urgently investigated the facts with the police officers and found that it was a product of a certain brand. When buying the same drain-clearing product to test, it was found to be concentrated sulfuric acid. The FDA checked the name of the product in the health product authorization database and found no registration. The label did not specify the name and address of the manufacturer.

In this regard, products for unclogging pipes are classified as hazardous substances under the responsibility of the FDA under the Hazardous Substances Act B.E. 2535 and its amendments. If the main substance is an acidic substance, such as sulfuric acid, the manufacturer or importer must register the product and request permission to manufacture or import with the FDA.

Pharmacist Wirachai emphasized that when using products to solve blockages in pipes, please choose products registered with the FDA. He also warned about
bleach and toilet cleaner products. Never mix or use the two products at the same time because they may react to form toxic substances. They must not be used together or mixed with other products because the chemicals in the products may react to form toxic gases that are severely harmful to the body, even to the point of death. He asked users to strictly follow the warnings and recommendations on the label to prevent possible dangers.
