Colombo: The Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka, along with the Sri Lanka-Vietnam Solidarity Association (SVSA) and the Colombo Public Library, hosted a ceremony to commemorate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, which took place on May 19, 1890. The event attracted a large number of attendees, including several senior officials from Sri Lanka.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the ceremony commenced with a flower offering at the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, located in central Colombo. This statue is one of the few monuments in the city dedicated to a foreign leader, symbolizing the deep respect and admiration for the Vietnamese leader. Participants at the event paid homage and expressed their profound respect for President Ho Chi Minh, recognizing his enduring legacy and influence on generations of Sri Lankans.
